The Potatoe River Falls are a must see. There are picnic tables and a single privie if needed. There are trails with steps to both the upper and lower falls. 18 minutes from Mellen and 10 minutes or so off US2 on Hwy 169
Great park and beautiful waterfalls, but go prepared to hike and explore. There were quite a bit of stairs, and the lower falls required crossing the river and hiking upstream to get a decent view.. the trail didn't really bring you anywhere worthwhile.
It's cheap, not crowded and right next to beautiful waterfalls.
It has a bathroom and its free. Does it get any better? Bring your own water...
The falls are amazing. Difficult to get close to and a million steps. Facilities are not well taken care of but the falls make it worth the trip
